30th June Fundraiser
Most of our fundraisers will be ways to reach out to the community of housed people in Berkeley through films, Q&A sessions, and a non-threatening space for all to gather. In keeping with the educational part of our mission, we deeply hope this outreach will soften some negative stereotypes that permeate those judging the entire "unhoused community" by the actions of a few. Through these films we hope to show the community that most of the people that are living on the streets are not unlike ourselves, other than life circumstances.
Our second film event features the movie “HOMELESS: The Story of America's Economic Refugees”, from the internationally renowned author and scholar, Dr. Samar Habib. This is not only an interesting and eye-opening movie, it will be a day you will not want to miss.

HOMELESS will be followed by a short film about the residents of the 2017/18 Berkeley Emergency Storm Shelter (B.E.S.S.) A collaborative effort by a few of Berkeley's Homeless Advocates
